Permafrost is about investigating materials. I use thick high pigmented lacquer, high pigmented alcohol and transparent linseed oil. Instead of painting or drawing in a typical way, I just have to place the paint on the grounding. Mostly I used paper or glass.

The different materials are bonding or repelling until the first color is dry-hard and here the chemical and physical reaction slowly stops. On the first look it seems to be a study of several types of protozoans. The Title “PERMAFROST” is just an irritation to amplify the feeling to see some zoological studies. De facto its just fat and thinner what causes the look and shape of something zoological. So what we see is not what it is supposed to be.

It´s just about irritation through shape and texture by investigating paint in an obsessive way to find out if there is a poetic potential inherent or not.
